One Direction, The Biggest Young Boyband 2012

Saya tau banget mereka semua sejak pertama kali mereka melakukan audisi, secara perorangan untuk acara X-Faxtor at 2010 di ITV1. Saya liat sendiri betapa mereka semua kecewa dan frustasi karena gagal masuk ke babak semi final di acara itu. Tapi Simon Cowell memanggil mereka kembali dan menggabungkan mereka ke dalam satu grup yang diberi nama One Direction. Mereka mau gak mau harus beradaptasi agar grup yang baru dibentuk itu menjadi solid dan bisa bertanding di kompetisi X-Factor dengan waktu yang sangat minimum dan mereka masuk seleksi untuk ikut live show. Gak disangka One Direction berhasil di urutan ketiga, karena persaingan ketat antara mereka dengan dua peserta X-Factor yang memang bener-bener bagus, yaitu Matt dan Rebecca Ferguson.

Sungguh beruntung grup ini, karena Simon Cowel berbaik hati memberikan kontrak kepada 3 pemenang X-Factor di tahun 2010 itu. Sebelomnya cuman kepada pemenang saja. Mungkin Simon melihat potensi pasar dari Grup yang dibentukanya itu, yaitu para remaja putri. Dan ternyata memang demikian adanya... Benar-benar number one! Bikin para remaja putri histerisss... Justin Bieber kayaknya lewat, apalagi gayanya yang sok itu melecehkan Indonesia, banyak fans Justin pindah ke 1D termasuk keponakan saya yang sekarang tergila-gila dengan 1D ini ;)
